ALIA2 FOUNDATION ADVISE YOU ABOUT HOW TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN FROM INTERNET DANGERS

In Alia2 Foundation we strive to give you the solutions you need. We work daily so that your child will be protected while surfing the Internet. Here is how we do, and what you can do from home.

To improve the safety of your children on the Internet, you need to know how the web works (forums, chats, social networking, email, etc.).

-          Put your computer in a common place at home and share Internet with them.

-          Tell them not to leave their personal data in the network. Teach them to be suspicious and not to contact with strangers, even less to have an appointment with them.

-          Remind them not to share their personal information and photos on the internet.

-          It is possible that you are not always present while your children surf the Internet. For this reason, review the history of visited pages.

-          Alia2 Foundation also recommends you use a parental control system that alerts you when your child is exposed to content unsuitable for their age.

In the areas that you do not control, Alia2 Foundation helps you in the following way:

-          It gives you an update on the reality of this problem in our country.

-          It also conducts free lectures in public and private schools aimed at both young people and parents. In this way, we teach students to identify hazards on the Internet, and parents to provide solutions to these threats.

-          We perform awareness campaigns aimed at all users of the network.

-          We also create software to detect the presence and file sharing on P2P networks, suspected of containing child pornography. Thanks to our applications, the State Security Forces, Catalan Police (Mossos d’Esquadra) and Civil Guard, have managed to imprison members of international networks sharing pedophile video and photos.

-          We also offer parents a real-time alert system in the case their children to enter sites deemed not suited for minors.

Another of our action ways is to combine the efforts of different sectors of society through volunteer programs and agreements with institutions, companies and NGOs. We also have the support of a group of members, with monthly contributions, that helps us to continue to improve.
